These styles can be applied to all elements on the current page. 3. You can also define styles inline, in the HTML tag itself. Inline styles are applicable only to the HTML element in which these styles are defined. Inline formatting takes precedence over local formatting, which, in turn, takes precedence over global formatting. These precedence rules are the reason style sheets are referred to as cascading.
